Tropical Makeup

So, I’m the kind of person who doesn’t leave the house without makeup.  Sure, I’ll run into the grocery store in sweatpants and a t-shirt, my hair ragged; I’ll shamelessly throw a gallon of ice cream on the conveyor belt.  What about it?  But, I will not, do not, shall never, leave the house without a little makeup on.  What does that say about me as a person?  Nevermind.  Let’s not get into that shall we.

Anyhow, we have vacationed in the tropics a few times now, and I live in the south where humidity can relentlessly attack and make the time I spent in front of the mirror seem absolutely pointless.  Days like this I want my makeup to be quick and to the point.  I like to get my face to what I call ground zero.  This is, for me, a natural finish with a purpose.

I use waterproof products that are full of SPF for days at the beach, days roaming through the rain forest, whatever the sticky situation may be these few products work well:

Face:  Cōtz Mineral Sunscreen.  This stuff goes on thick and can feel a little sticky.  However, it has coverage like a mineral makeup, and I didn’t get burnt once while we were in Mexico.

Cheeks:  Nars Multiple.  This thing is an investment but I LOVE it.  It has rich pigment that I have found lasts all day.

Eyes:  Lights, Camera, Splashes.  This waterproof mascara is all natural.  I have super sensitive eyes and this stuff is fantastic.

Make Up For Ever Aqua Shadow.  A have a couple of colors, and when traveling I use these as both eyeliner and eyeshadow.

Benefit POREfessional Agent Zero Shine Powder:  I gently patted some of this over the mineral sunscreen and blush and it took the stickiness right out, leaving a clean matte finish.

Slap on some SPF lip balm and you are ready to go.  I hope this will make getting your travel beauty bag together a little bit easier for your next vacation.  And, in case you didn’t know this, I LOVE makeup so I would love to hear any of your tips as well.
